The Loss of An Iconic Personality

Cynthia Lennon, the first wife of Beatles star John Lennon, died today after a battle with cancer.
Julian Lennon, was at her side when she passed away at home in Mallorca, Spain. She was 75.

Cynthia Powell was born in England, where she developed a passion for art and studied at the Liverpool College of Art.
During her studies there, she met John Lennon. They were married in August 1962.
Cynthia and John had a son, Julian, now 51.

Cynthia exhibited her art in various places over the years and in 1995, recorded a cover of “Those Were The Days.”
Cynthia will be greatly missed. Seen in this photo, with my friend May Pang, who was also one of Cynthia's best friends.
